Gingerbread 2006

Well boys and girls, it's that time again. The calendar is down to one page, the air is crisp, the tree is trimmed and I'm all but chained to my stove. Fa la la la la la la la la.

This year's gingerbread project, if you'll recall, was supposed to be the most holy of cathedrals to members of Red Sox Nation. Well, I'm sorry to have to tell you that Fenway will need to wait til next year. I knew it would be a big project, but jeez! Out of control! I will literally need to work on that non-stop throughout the year.

Have no fear, though! Construction on this year's gingerbread project began tonight! The plan is to make a gingerbread sleigh. Then...on Christmas Eve, I'll fill it up with truffles that I've made. Of course, now that I'm far enough along to be committed to the project, it occurs to me that perhaps it won't be able to hold the weight of the truffles. Maybe it'll fall apart once it's full? Oh who knows?! We will find out soon enough, I guess.

If I can remember how to post pictures, I'll share them with you, natch.

I suppose I should go see about that...
